KROK 1 2007 – Question 143 · KROK (Medicine) · Pathophysiology
A 23 y.o. patient complains of weakness, temperature rise up to 38–40 °C. Objectively: liver and spleen are enlarged. Hemogram: Hb- 100 g/l, erythrocytes - 2.9 · 10¹²/l, leukocytes 4.4 · 10⁹/l, thrombocytes - 48 · 10⁹/l, segmentonuclear neutrophils - 17%, lymphocytes - 15%, blast cells - 68%. All cytochemical reactions are negative. Make a hematological conclusion:
- A. Acute lymphoblastic leukosis
- B. Acute erythromyelosis
- C. Undifferentiated leukosis
- D. Acute myeloblastic leukosis
- E. Chronic myeloleukosis
Hint
Consider what negative myeloperoxidase, lipid and glycogen stains on a population of blasts imply about whether their lineage can be assigned.
The answer, the explanation and a note on every option are available once you log in. The account is free: topic tests, a mock exam, mistake review and statistics.
