Normal sinus rhythm, leads II and V2 — generated live in your browser.
Sandbox
Use sliders to change the rate, PR, QRS, QTc, axis and ST elevation, and the tracing updates straight away in all 12 leads. Below it you get an automatic report, written the way a doctor would write it.
- Ready-made tracings: normal, bradycardia, tachycardia, AV block, atrial fibrillation, STEMI in three territories, old MI, long QT
- Four stages of infarction, from hyperacute T waves to an old MI with Q waves
- Reciprocal changes appear on their own, just as in a real heart
Lessons with a “See it live” button
Eight lessons, from ECG paper and calibration to STEMI and the QT interval. Each “See it live” button sets up the tracing next to the text and highlights the wave or segment being discussed.
- Criteria based on current ESC guidelines and the universal definition of myocardial infarction
- Measuring tasks and check questions in every lesson
- Material for students, plus extra content for doctors
Calipers, pins and notes
The digital calipers measure time in milliseconds and amplitude in millivolts, and convert the RR interval to a heart rate straight away. Click the tracing to see which wave it is.
- A live tracing like on a monitor, or a frozen one like a printout; ECG paper or monitor view
- Paper speed of 25 or 50 mm/s, gain of 5, 10 or 20 mm/mV, zoom and full screen
- Private pins with labels and lesson notes are saved to your account
Quizzes with clinical cases
Every question is a new tracing with a short patient vignette. You answer A–D or measure the PR, QRS, QT or rate with the calipers, then read an explanation that uses the values from that very tracing.
- A basic level (four conditions) and a level for doctors (ten diagnoses)
- Points, streaks and your accuracy for each diagnosis are saved to your account
- Later quizzes ask more often about what you find harder
Lessons
- ECG paper, calibration and waves
- Sinus rhythm and heart rate
- The cardiac axis
- Reading an ECG step by step
- First-degree AV block
- Atrial fibrillation
- ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI)
- The QT and QTc interval · for doctors
For students
A systematic method for reading an ECG and the most common diagnoses — from paper and calibration, through rhythm and axis, to myocardial infarction. Useful in classes, in tests and before your licensing exam.
For doctors
A quick refresher on the criteria before your shift: ST elevation thresholds, localising the infarct and reciprocal changes, STEMI equivalents, QTc and drugs, and atrial fibrillation according to the 2024 ESC guidelines.
